Let's take a look at how you use the app to do Door Is A Bore (DIAB).
How to decide whether to do door is a bore or departures will depend on getting your dog's baseline. So do check out the video on getting a baseline to help you make this decision. If you are doing DIAB though, click on training.
Then click on Door Is A Bore.
You'll see the different levels from the Door Is A Bore (DIAB) training plan. More likely than not, you're going to start at level one.
So click go on level one.
You'll see the description of level one or whichever level you're on at the top of the training chart.
You want to repeat this step 10 times.
You can if you want, add additional reps, but do try to do at least 10 reps.
The only time you wouldn't do 10 repetitions of each level is if your dog is struggling, in which case you're going to stop at whichever repetition you are on.
Click to complete the exercise.
Add notes if you wish, and decide how your dog did.
If your dog got through all 10 repetitions and there was no signs of stress or anxiety, then click aced it.
Do note that if your dog is following you to the door or watching what you do or even staying at the door, that's perfectly fine and actually very common.
What we're looking for is the absence of anxiety, so you can still put ACE it even if your dog is following you to the door. As long as you don't see any anxiety in your dog, if you do see anxiety and you fail to get through those 10 repetitions, put struggled, and here's a top tip... If you're in doubt and you really don't think your dog aced it, but it wasn't a disaster and your dog didn't struggle, then put, okay, and you'll just end up being given the same level to do again.
Then just continue on with the levels, saving them as you go along.
